Anyhoo, let’s talk about this amazing recipe. It’s delicious, light and surprisingly filling. You won’t need to use too much and you might have a little extra leftover mix.
And it’s f*cking delicious!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 half and half
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 5 (1 inch) thick slices dry brioche bread
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Maple syrup
- Powdered sugar (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cut brioche slices in half. Set aside.
- Whisk milk, half and half, egg, sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon together in a bowl.
- Heat 1 1/2 teaspoons butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Working in batches, dip each slice of brioche bread in the egg mixture and cook in the hot butter until golden, 2 to 3 minutes per side, adding more butter as needed. Transfer French toast to a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until puffed, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Drizzle powdered sugar over baked French toast and top each slice with maple syrup.
